The start of a new year always feels like a good prompt to take time to pause and reflect. I love the opportunity to take a moment (if I manage to find one) to reflect and I also love writing a good list, so I love the format of Faith Lists.
Faith Lists is the kind of book I would definitely pick up in a bookshop to flick through. It’s beautifully illustrated by Olivia Holden. The illustrations completely drew me in, and the font is absolutely lovely (anyone else get really taken in by a pretty font?)
Each double page has an illustration and a lined list page.

Some of my favourites lists included:
- Your favourite ways to connect with God
- The best pieces of wisdom you’ve heard, read or learnt yourself
- The qualities that you admire most in your church leaders
- Your favourite lyrics from hymns or worship songs
- The reasons for your faith in God
- The ways in which God might be asking you to step our of your comfort zone
Those are just a few of over fifty lists! Usually if I sit down to take some time to reflect I focus on career, money or family goals. I loved that this book instead prompted me to stop and think about my spiritual life.
A lovely gift
I haven’t decided yet whether I will keep this book for myself or give it away. It really would make a lovely gift. Probably, I will buy myself a copy and give away this copy and others as gifts. It is a beautiful book and would be a great way to start the year with some spiritual focus whether for yourself or as a gift for someone else.
(#AD-gifted The lovely people at SPCK publishing sent me a free copy of this book to review if I wanted to. Everything in this review is my own, honest opinion.)
