Yet again I’ve neglected my blog. However, what with getting married, moving house and starting a new job I feel that it’s probably understandable! It’s been an incredible 6 months and I’m already feeling very settled into marriage, my new home and my job. I’m loving getting stuck into everything new in my life, but for now I’ll just start with some reflections on work.
CityKids (our Children’s ministry at St Paul’s) provides me with countless examples of childlike faith lived out. For the past couple of months I have been with the 6-7 year olds – they can’t sit still for very long and the noise they make can be deafening, but in their moments of concentration they are always fully engaged with what God wants to say and do with them. They can go from being fully immersed in a game of ‘duck, duck, goose’ to being fully immersed in worship within seconds! Amongst other things, just in the last few weeks we’ve prayed for sick relatives, world disasters, hungry children all over the world and for each other to feel joy, all at their own request.
Children really are incredible. More and more, I am aware of how much potential they have; they are able to experience God’s presence and act in faith in ways that are simply extraordinary. They are care-free and unaware of all the little things that cause us adults to doubt ourselves and God. Seeing childlike faith demonstrated daily inspires me to think about my own faith and approach God with everything, fully expectant that he will use me. The Kingdom of Heaven really does belong to children (Matthew 19:4)

Great blog! No wonder the children at St Paul’s thrive in your care.
Thanks Annie!
